Anglo-Saxon: beowulf

I thought Beowulf was a very good action storybook. It had a lot of things in there that interests me that really draws my attention to it, like it almost could be a real life story. The part that really stood out to me the most when the Roman Empire won control of the Island for one hundred years, and when the Romans protected Britain from the invaders.
Early history of the Danes:
Beowulf was a great poem a little long but good. I was going to stop reading it into is started actually sounding good. The part that stood out to me the most when Shield had a son sent by god, to comfort the people. And Shield found an orphan was his son.
Grendel Attacks:
I thought it was ok but I do like some parts in it. there was one part that really stood out to me when the poets sang a sad song throughout the world, about how Grendel tormented Horthgar and now no warrior, no matter how brave, could kill Grendel. Grendel wasn't about to stop or pay any damages. Grendel kept ambushing from his lair, the moors that lay in perpetual darkness.
The adventures of Beowulf:
I think it was interesting. The thing I like most about it that really touch me the most is when he left behind his hand to save his life, and his arm and shoulder, though that won't buy the wretch much comfort. The Queen Speaks:It was ok. The part that had touched me the most was that after Caine killed his brother, his father's son, and "he went in guilt, marked by murder, fleeing the joys of men to occupy the waste".
2). a. They believed in animism, and contributed many of the myths and tales still told today.
a. Beowulf believed that everything had a soul.
b. Thor, and the Dragon, who is usually the protector of treasure or warrior graves.
b. Shield, the son of the sheaf, took many an enemy's chair, terrified many a warrior after he was found an orphan.
3). How Beowulf is similar to our stories is that they all have enemies that they have to kill, and having a big fight at the end and people die. What not similar to other hero stories is that the hero dies at the end and the enemy wins and takes over.
4). The way Beowulf died seems to be painful to me when Grendel cut off his fingers and stabbed him.I think that it was pretty sad at the end when he died. It had a lot of fighting and killing in it. I liked it because at the end it was different from other stories. This time the enemy got away and won and then the hero died at the end.

I think that it was bad because he went along to fight, but it was a good thing because no one else got hurt. Wiglaf was brave to go out and help Beowulf fight because Wiglaf knew that if Beowulf went alone he would get hurt. Wiglaf attacked the Dragon even with his hand burned. When Wiglaf cut the Dragon Beowulf sees the dragon hurt so Beowulf comes and cuts the Dragon down the middle, killing the Dragon. I think it was brave of them, both of them working together, to kill the Dragon.
